Our Story

Lior and AnnMarie are the proud owners behind Scents of a Dog! Here’s their bark story! While growing up in Israel, Lior and his Dad developed a love for horseback riding and sailing. After serving in the Army, Lior visited California with the hopes of putting down roots there, but first detoured to New Yorkie for seven years. His love of California stuck with him, and he finally hitched a ride out West to follow his heart. AnnMarie was born in the suburbs of Boston Terrier Mass. Her passion growing up was snow skiing and you could undoubtedly find her frequenting one of the many ski resorts in New England. Though she enjoyed the cold, AnnMarie also always felt a pull towards Cali, and eventually settled there as well. The couple met through a mutual business connection and immediately realized they had a lot in common. They love spending time with their packs, enjoy exercise, water sports, romping in the ocean and love the low-key California vibe. AnnMarie and Lior are always on the hunt for the next best restaurant, and you can often find them enjoying their time at the family lake house. They share a mutual love of dogs (and their scents) and currently share their home with a very sweet pit bull mix rescue named Ava. Their passion for animal rescue and their mutual entrepreneurial spirit led them to do what everyone dreams of – figure out a way to do what you love every day! This led them to form “Scents of a Dog” and began their journey to help support dog rescue. A portion of all proceeds of Scents of a Dog goes to All for Love Animal Rescue in Ojai, CA.
